“Ask a Stupid Question” day

Is it possible to see someone’s tears underwater? 🤔

On September 28th it was “Ask a Stupid Question” day.

The aim of this day was to encourage students to be more inquisitive, while creating a fun environment in which they weren't afraid of being laughed at.

Even though I like the intention behind this initiative, I also believe that everyday should be a “Ask a Stupid Question” day.

If we weren’t afraid of being ridiculed, we would be way more curious, ask more questions and therefore understand things way more.

If we always felt safe while asking questions, our Imposter Syndrome would surely be reduced.

And is there so such thing as a Stupid question anyways?

I believe that if you genuinely don’t know the answer to something then any question is acceptable.

At any given moment, we only know what we know, so feeling bad about what we don’t know is just a waste of time.

When I truly understood this and that there was no point in dwelling over what I didn’t know, I then I became way more confident about asking questions.

I started to embrace what I didn’t know and saw it as an opportunity to learn.

Now, when I find myself in a conversation about a topic I know nothing about, I don’t just stand there feeling like an imposter or pretending that I know what people are talking about, instead I ask questions.

Don’t be embarrassed about what you don’t know, be proud of what you will learn 🙏

What’s one stupid question you would have asked on Sept 28th if you were still in school?
